World Learning Inc./ Ethiopia (WLI./E) was established in 1996 basing its Country Office at Addis Ababa. World Learning Inc./Ethiopia (WLI./E) has an immediate opening for the following position.
Position title: Expeditor/Driver
Duty station: Gambella Number Required : 1 (one) Project : MULU II
I.Summary of the Job Handles and manages the vehicle under his/her custody; drives vehicle to transport people and goods to desired destinations; and ensures all safety procedures are routing undertaken, safety checks are made before departure and adhered to on travel. The Driver is also responsible for diagnosing, maintaining the continual readiness of the vehicle including minor maintenance of vehicle.
II. Duties & Responsibilities
Transport authorized goods, people, messages, etc. from one destination to another;
Ensure that the vehicle assigned to him is clean, dependable and workable at all times;
Fill in travel forms correctly and report distance traveled and consumption of fuel and oil on a daily basis;
Report any accidents and damages incurred to the traffic police and to the organization for appropriate action;
Clean assigned vehicle, check availability of sufficient fuel, air, water and oil every morning before driving;
Routinely check if the vehicle assigned to him functions properly;
Following services period of the vehicle and timely notify that the vehicle get serviced after traveling predetermined kilometers;
Ensure that vehicles are not used for purposes of intended duty;
Routinely check if the vehicle has functional maintenance tools;
Request for purchases/charges/ of battery, tires maintenance kit, etc.;
Occasionally purchase office supplies and other goods as required and deliver them in time;
Handle bank correspondence and cashing petty cash in the bank;
Adhere to the speed limit for driving in and out of town;
Keep Driving License always renewed;
Provide minor maintenance to the car assigned to him when it runs into problems;
Check out maintained cars from garage after ensuring that they work properly;
Facilitate every function in the organization that needs vehicle use;
Perform similar tasks as deemed necessary.
Job Requirement
I.Required Skills:
Proven ability to drive 4WD vehicles in and out of town;
Proven experience on vehicle maintenance;
Knowledge of basic repair tools and proper tool usage;
2. Clean record of safe driving; 3. Ability to carry out minor repairs and maintenance;
Proficiency in spoken English;
5. Ability to work effectively without close supervision; 6. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. 7. Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
II.Training and Experience:
Graduation from high school and job-related experience of five years; 3rd grade driving license officially renewed minimum of 3 years of experience with no accident report for the past two years; Technical knowledge for maintaining automobiles is mandatory.
