GOAL is an Irish based international NGO with Programmes in Humanitarian Response, Rural Development and the street children. The Humanitarian Response Programme focus on nutrition intervention activities, working with the ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Oromiya, SNNPR and Amhara Region. The Rural Development Programme focus on health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation with cross cutting issues in gender, environment protection and HIV/AIDS, in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices. Incorporated into the Rural and Urban Development Programme, the ChildSPACE Programme works with ‘of the street’ children and youth working and living on the street by focusing on the strengths of children and young people; and through partnership building, collaboration and networking with various stake holders, the programme supports diverse community structures and initiatives through approaches that are Strength, Street and Partnership and Networking focused. The ChildSPACE programme is delivered by GOAL and directly by local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa. Cross-cutting issues include gender, the environment, child protection and HIV/AIDS. GOAL Ethiopia utilizes a strengths based approach to all development activities.
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated Senior Finance Manager who will be responsible for ensuring effective systems are being implemented that facilitate effective financial transactions, recording, posting and timely reporting to management, government and donors. The incumbent will have a functional supporting and supervisory role for field Finance Officer II and LAF Officers in guiding, directing, capacitating and following up on their performance and delivery of their required outputs together with the Regional and Field Programme Managers who have a direct supervisory responsibility for the above jobholders.
Requirements: (Educational Qualification and Experience)
• BA in Accounting or related field with a minimum of 4 - 6 years of related work experience of which at least 3 years is at management level in an international NGO managing large budget programmes funded by USAID/OFDA, ECHO. EHAF, Irish Aid, etc.
• Recognized accounting qualification (ACCA, etc.).
• Ability to work with advanced excels, SAGE, BMT and proficiency in standard office software packages.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English
• Firm belief in teamwork, demonstrated technical and managerial ability, and sound judgment, ability to interact and work effectively with others at all levels.
• Excellent communicator, facilitator and trainer; flexible and capable of working with an international country team; attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines.
• Keeping confidentiality, accountability, excellence, adaptability, innovation, and coaching, facilitating change, developing teams, planning and organizing.
Remuneration and Benefits:
GOAL pays a monthly salary within a range of birr 19,553.00 – 25,917.00 and provides benefits:
Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary
Taxi fare and 300 birr/month.
Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum.
Pension - as per the government pension scheme (11% from the employer and 7% from the employee).
