Job Summary
Under the guidance of CTD Director, the Mother Support Group Advisor supports the design and implementation of comprehensive, family centered, and quality Mother Support Group (MSG) program at ICAP-CU in Ethiopia supported regions.
Major Duties and Responsibilities As advisor of the MSG program of ICAP - CU in Ethiopia, the incumbent will have the following responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance to the FMoH and RHBs in developing/updating different guidelines, working formats, monitoring and evaluation indicators
Build the capacity of Regional, Zonal and Woreda levels
Assist Regions, and Zones/Woredas in implementing MSG transition plans
Provide technical assistance in planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of MSG programs with the Regional Health Bureaus
Support RHBs in facilitating MSG related training and in monitoring the quality of the program
Ensure the implementation of MSG minimum package in ICAP supported Federal hospitals and emerging region facilities
Ensure the implementation of PMTCT mother –infant pair cohort register in Federal hospitals and emerging region facilities
Assist the PMTCT/Pediatrics unit by Reviewing the monthly PMTCT and HEI data of the federal hospitals and emerging region facilities
Review ICAP regional offices monthly MSG performance and provide feedback
Ensure that all MSG related targets are met
Represent ICAP-Ethiopia in different forums when assigned by the supervisor
Present and participate actively in monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual ICAP performance review meetings.
Compiles monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual activity reports
Provide /facilitate MSG related trainings and monitor the quality
Provide clinical systems mentorship and supportive supervision in ICAP supported Federal hospitals and emerging region facilities
Review ICAP regional offices monthly MSG performance and provide feedback
Supports the PMTCT/MNCH and pediatrics unit in the planning ,implementation and monitoring of PMTCT/MNCH services
Under the basis of need assessment conducted by ROs ,will be accountable to follow the technical evaluation ,purchasing process and distribution of furniture and supplies to ICAP supported Federal hospitals and emerging region MSG facilities
Prepare the unit annual work plan with targeted benchmark indicators and evaluate them quarterly
Perform others duties assigned by the supervisor
Job Requirement
Required qualifications and experience:
Nurse with minimum of 5 years’ experience, including in MSG
Experience in HIV program technical coordination
Experience in teaching, mentoring, organizing and conducting training.
Experience in development of national documents related to HIV/AIDS Programs
Excellent interpersonal and coordination skills
Proficiency in written and spoken English
Computer skills (MS Office and statistical packages)
