JOB SUMMARY The Purpose of procurement officer position is to assist and facilitate the efficient, smooth and cost-effective procurement services of the LMD project
Major TASKS:
Responsible for the procurement of high quality of goods with reasonable cost bases
Identify suppliers for fixed price agreement based on the procedure of CNF/LMD
Obtain quotations from vendors after a purchase request is approved by the concerned body
Work closely with grant unit to procure items for grantee
Keep recording for all vendors information for further information
Work with finance to settle all payments regarding procurement items/ services
Keep procurement documents in proper way
Analyse and prepare bid summery and presented to procurement committee with recommendations
Work closely with the logistics assistant to record all purchased items on the GRV
Discusses equipment specifications with vendors, and ensures that items received match the purchase order before payment.
Prepare payment requests for purchased items.
Work with the technical team to get their request in advance
Prepare procurement tracking sheets
Report all procurement activities to procurement and logistics manager every week
Undertakes any other activities as requested by the Logistics and Procurement Manager
Job Requirement
EDUCATION AND Work EXPERIENCE:
Minimum BA degree and 5 years of relevant work experience. Experience on USAID funded projects will have an advantage
TECHNICAL AND OTHER SKILLS Required:
Integrated knowledge and understanding of human resources concepts, practices, systems, and procedures;
Ability to interact and deal with people;
Excellent planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills;
Computer proficiency;
Good knowledge of written and spoken English;
Driving Licence
