The Position holder will be responsible to ensure high quality management of SCUS awards (an active portfolio of 34 awards, 192mUSD value) thorough Continuous improvement and development of all award management systems and ensuring that they are consistent with global Save the Children procedures in Addis and at field level. S/he will be expected to make sure all award cycle processes (opportunity identification to award closeout) are followed through workflows on the award management systems (AMS) by the Award Coordinators/Analysts and that all relevant documents are uploaded in the system and maintained in hard copy. The incumbent will ensure Fund Summaries are activated in a timely and accurate manner, and alert Awards Director and management to any problems/issues. Among other tasks, the incumbent will be expected to coordinate the Award Management Team to ensure accurate and quality progress and financial reports are submitted to SCUS in a timely manner. Ensuring the system for programme-wide income and debt tracking is working and lead in chasing income from donors in liaison with Finance and SCUS is informed of any receipts promptly will also be among his/her major responsibility. S/he will be responsible for the efficient management of GIK (Gift in Kind) through ensuring that it’s in accordance with donor and SCI guidelines. Furthermore, the position holder will be in charge of leading the Award Management Team for SCUS awards; provide guidance and training to Ethiopia CO staff implementing SCUS award programs as well as relevant support unit staff.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for the post, applicants need to have a Bachelors Degree in Management, Accounting, and Finance from a recognized University with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience out of which 3 years directly related to award management and/or programme management. S/he needs to have the ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies; Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching; and knowledge of local laws of the country. S/he should be Fluent in English, both verbal and written, and have a good computer skill (computerized accounting packages, Excel, PowerPoint, Word...). Moreover, applicants should have knowledge of and familiarity with USAID, US Government, UN rules and regulations. Having staff management experience will be an added advantage.
