The Population Council seeks temporary field assistants to conduct interviews with adolescent girls and young women in urban and rural Ethiopia. The position will also refer girls in need of services or support as needed. The temporary assignment will last roughly one month. The ideal candidates will possess the following:
• Experience in conducting qualitative interviews in similar studies, as well as providing information and referring for services • Experience working with different categories of the poorest girls including sex workers, street girls and girls working in bars and nightclubs • Willingness to work in the field where girls are found including nightclubs and bars • Diplomacy skills and able to manage girls and young women in different and difficult situations • Willingness and ability to travel to different parts of Ethiopia
Job Requirement
An undergraduate degree in the social sciences is preferred
Fluency in Amharic and English; other languages as needed
