Job Summary
Under the supervision of the director, medical education and in-service training and in coordination with FMOH and other partners, the training advisor will provide technical support to training activities in the Emerging Regions to plan and implement training activities of the Columbia's HIV/AIDS care and treatment programs in Ethiopia.
Duties and Responsibilities • Undertake training needs assessment in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment in collaboration with the FMOH and RHBs on continuous basis • Assist in the development of training action plan • Assist in the development of training SOPs. • Assist in the organization of training in PMTCT, TB/HIV, VCT, PIHCT, ART, peer education, STIs, point of services, comprehensive lab, and DBS collection, • Lead all in service trainings sponsored by CU-ICAP and trainings with different technical units at the emerging regions • Prepare and archive training reports • Consolidates all training data by regions and thematic areas and prepare periodical reports • Oversee coordination of overall training logistics including availability of training materials and venues • Involve in the consolidation, analysis and dissemination of training data • Works closely with partners, regional health bureaus and health facilities for effective implementation of IST in the emerging regions
Maintain strong working relationships with counterparts in RHB and training institutions, practice sites, government authorities and other stakeholders;
Work jointly with the RHBs to coordinate planning and scheduling of activities and ensure that logistical support is available for the smooth implementation of training events
Participate in the development of work plans, implementation and training plans, quarterly reports and other program deliverables;
Monitor program outputs and results related to IST and work closely with program and monitoring and evaluation staff to ensure that these are documented and reported accurately. Compile additional documentation like case studies when necessary
Promote communication for creating a learning environment across ICAP and ensure sharing of such information and knowledge
Identify programmatic successes, challenges and lessons learned, and document these for internal use, and external audiences
Monitor and evaluate the quality and standard of in-service trainings being conducted by CU-ICAP
Job Requirement
Required qualification and experience • MPH in health field with 5 years or above of experience
Worked as training advisor
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates associates, other department directors and managers and external bodies. • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. • Good communication skills in English language • Basic computer knowledge • Good interpersonal skills
