Ensuring proper safety, security and handling of SCI fleets to the best interest of the organization and Manage SCI Ethiopia vehicle fleet in accordance to the operational needs and in compliance with the required standard procedures. Provide effective and cost efficient resource planning and scheduling for all fleet assets within Ethiopia as well as ensuring that technical maintenance support is carried out in accordance with standard maintenance guidelines and schedules. Maximize the Ethiopia fleet efficiency and cost effectiveness through planned resource allocation in accordance with procedures and guidelines and close cooperation with all fleet management staff in place country-wide. Provide technical input into the decision making process concerning the issue of transport services as planning capacity and availability of vehicles, trucks for transport of staff and relief supplies either by Save the Children transport means or out sourced commercial services. anagement, control and accountability of all fuel supplies within the Addis fleet and provide fuel management support including contingency planning and storage country-wide Monitor, control and report on the use of all SCI Ethiopia fleet assets in both operational and non-operational circumstances. Ensure that all SCI Ethiopia fleet asset and driver administration is executed in a professional manner and in accordance with SCI standard procedures and legal obligations as per the traffic law in Ethiopia.
Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for the position, applicants should have a BA/MA in Transport Management, Logistics Management or equivalent education level gained through practical experience and/or job related courses; At least 5 years of proven experience working in Transport/Fleet Management, minimum 3 years in supervisory positions either in a commercial or humanitarian environment Advanced technical qualifications in automotive engineering are mandatory; Good interpersonal skills; Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching; Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in; Commitment to Save the Children values; Ability and willingness to change work practices and hours in the event of major emergencies including travelling at short notice and for extended periods of time; Highly organised with good administration skills for order and information management, able to develop filing systems and databases to ensure an auditable trail; A high level of computer literacy (word, excel, ppt etc)
