The GBV Officer is a key team member of International Medical Corps, and will oversee the overall day to day of GBV prevention and response interventions, including case management/psychosocial support, community mobilization for GBV prevention, capacity building and coordination with other sectors and actors in 2 selected woredas of East Hararge in Ethiopia under the direct supervision of GBV field office manager. The GBV Officer is the key technical person at the field level for International Medical Corp’s GBV interventions. International Medical Corp Reproductive Health (RH) programming aims to meet the comprehensive reproductive health care needs in two woredas of East Harrarghe zone through capacity building of the local health system at community level. The program will collaborate with the UNFPA and Ministry of Health guidelines and regulations, working with the health institutions providing care are functioning effectively to increase health care access and improve service delivery. The GBV officer will be responsible to ensure the achievement of GBV program in the target woredas under direct supervision, technical support and mentoring to the government health system/facilities (health centers and health posts) and the community based GBV interventions. The GBV officer is the first level focal person to the GBV interventions of International Medical Corps at IMC EH for the two target woreda and community level.
