Introduction CNFA is a not-for-profit organization based in Washington, D.C. dedicated to stimulating sustainable growth in the agricultural sector. CNFA specializes in fostering private sector investments in training, new technologies and marketing as a means to increase the overall competitiveness of agricultural value chains, expand exports and develop skills in the rural workforce. By generating higher incomes for farmers, processors, entrepreneurs and distributors, CNFA helps improve livelihoods and reduce poverty.
CNFA implements the five year USAID-funded Agriculture Growth Program-Livestock Growth Project (AGP-LGP). Across selected woredas in Tigray, Oromia, Amhara, and SNNPR, AGP-LGP will: 1) foster growth and competitiveness of meat, live animal, dairy and hides, skins, and leather value chains; 2) ensure an enabling environment to support the growth and competitiveness of these livestock value chains; and 3) address the needs of the chronically vulnerable through nutrition-based interventions and linkages with other USAID-funded programs in Ethiopia.
Oromia Regional Coordinator Working under direct supervision of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Oromia Regional Coordinator will have the following duties and responsibilities.
Major Duties and Responsibilities The main duties of the Oromia Regional Coordinator are to:
Serve as the main focal person in coordinating the implementation of planned activities of AGP-LMD principally with the AGP, Regional Bureau of Agriculture, Livestock Agency but also relevant bureaus like Cooperative Promotion, Trade and Investment,
Oversee and provide support to the regional implementing partner HUNDEE in the implementation of planned activities,
Serve as a liaison between AGP-LMD management and HUNDEE in identification and planning of activities, building relations with the relevant bureaus a in the region,
Take the lead in planning and scheduling of trainings, organizing Multi-Stake Holder Platforms with the focal person of HUNDEE
Verify delivery of services by HUNDEE as per the Task Order signed between AGP-LMD and the latter,
Report to AGP-LMD management on progress and achievements of the regional plan including activities executed by HUNDEE ( monthly, quarterly, annually)
Assist the monitoring and evaluation team with the collection of project data pertaining to project performance
Work with Communications and Outreach Officer to publicize project achievements and enhance the visibility of the project
In conjunction with the Office Manager, arrange the travel of visitors to the Oromia Region.
Compile project expense reports and send to Senior Accountant.
Job Requirement
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field. Master’s preferred, or equivalent combination of education and work experience in a relevant competency area, including, international development, animal sciences, statistics or other.
Minimum of 5 years working on donor funded projects.
Proven knowledge of the Oromia regional development offices related to the project
Experience with monitoring and evaluation preferred.
Demonstrated experience overseeing or delivering technical assistance to value chain drivers.
