ORGANIZATIONAL DESCRIPTION: Comitato di Collaborazione Medica (CCM) (www.ccm-italia.org) is an Italian NGO founded in 1968 implementing health-related projects in Burundi, Kenya, Mali, South Sudan and Somalia. CCM is active in Ethiopia since 1998. In the frame of a new 3-years project “Strengthenining of network and improvement of the quality of Reproductive health services in Bale zone of Oromia Regional State” funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, CCM is seeking for qualified candidates for the positions; “Community Network Officer”, “Supportive Supervision and Mentoring Officer” and “Training Officer”.
Location: Bale Zone office with frequent field travel to woredas (at least80% except for Training Officer) Length of Employment: One year with possibility of extension Reporting to: Assistant Project Coordinator
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Assist APC to design an efficient collection of data on training needs;
Coordinate the training need assessment;
Define appropriate training methodologies and ensure that they are properly applied throughout the project life;
Support in the evaluation of performances of external training consultants;
Provide inputs on contents of training, coordinating with APC and counterparts to their final definition
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes using rapid surveys, questionnaires, interviews and by observation, in order to plan future courses and/or amend the existing ones
Facilitate the organized trainings or arrange for an external trainer to do so
Assist the APC in the overall implementation of trainings and research as foreseen in the project
Collect suitable training material available at national/international level and support the organization of the training curricula
Plan and supervise on-the-job-trainings and follow-up supervision, to ensure the retention of information taught during the training
Coordinate the appraisal of training effectiveness and impact
Provide monthly reports to the APC on the overall training and research activities
Support the Assistant Project Coordinator in the relations with local stakeholders (i.e. Zonal health department, woreda health offices, Zonal/woreda Administrations, etc.), mainly in relation to training activities
When requested, represent CCM, participating in training coordination meetings at regional, zonal and woreda level
Ensure the correct functioning of the Bale zonal premises (training rooms, library, computer room, etc.) and training equipments
Job Requirement
University Degree in Health
More than five years experience in the training sector Holding BEmONC and LAFP Training Certificate is an asset
Experience with International Organization and NGO is an asset
Outstanding communication and public relations skills
Excellent capacity to compile presentations and written reports
Computer literacy; proficiency in use of Office package
Fluency in spoken and written English and Oromo language
Excellent self-motivation and commitment;
Ability to cope with strict deadlines and complex situations
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills; ability to work in a team
Experience in training coordination and organization is mandatory
