The Raw Material Development Manager is responsible for the overall coordination of HEINEKEN’s activities around sourcing of malt barley in Ethiopia. The scope consists of managing the direction on Strategic level while securing Operational execution of the key projects. All activities have to be part of a strong long term strategy and vision for a sustainable supply chain, assuring solid agricultural supply contracts with farmer groups, high quality malt barley supply and monitoring the cost of the total chain. Chain actor relationships have to be managed in Business-, NGO- and Governmental context.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Strong manager, including well developed skills in managing complex relations and interactions
Complex project/program management
Proven networking skills on higher business and government levels
Minimum Master’s Degree in business development, agriculture, international development, or related field. Experience in agriculture, and/or value chain approaches in the food industry is highly desirable
Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing international agricultural/ economic growth programs in Ethiopia or abroad
Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in English and preferably Amharic.
Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required
Understanding of and experience with farmer capacity-building principles
Analytical, quantitative mindset and way of working, “numbers speak”
Demonstrated personal accountability
Cultural sensitivity, patience, and flexibility
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills and ability to build and motivate diverse and talented teams
Flexibility to work both in a team and independently
