GOAL is an Irish International NGO with Programmes in Humanitarian Response and Rural and Urban Development. The Humanitarian Response Programme focuses on nutrition intervention activities, working with the Ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Oromiya, SNNPR and Amhara Region, as well as in refugees’ settings in Somali and Afar Regions. The Rural and Urban Development Programme focuses on health, education, nutrition, WASH, Livelihoods and HIV/ AIDS in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices.
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post Hygiene Promotion Officer, who will be responsible for the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of planned activities related to Hygiene and Sanitation aspects of the proposal in to each of the programme activities and the system are developed to monitor and evaluate the performance of this activities involved in the identification, planning, implementation and monitoring of hygiene and sanitation related activities.

BSc degree/ Diploma in environmental health/community health or relevant field with 3-5 years of relevant experience preferably with an NGO.
Have technical background and knowledge in environmental health and demonstrated work experience in water and sanitation in designing and implementing hygiene promotion/hygiene education programs;
Demonstrate facilitation skill of hygiene promotion tools such as BSF ,Tulip , CLTS and PHAST
Ability to demonstrate basic skills of community engagement and mobilization into practice.
Ability to effectively liaise with local government, community leaders and other stakeholders and conduct Hygiene promotion for community and local government
Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken in English. Knowledge of Oromiffaa language,
Ability to understand the cultural context of the community and use that culture as an input for community mobilization.

Have good understanding and hands on experience on hygiene promotion, sustainable development core principles and values; Community Development, Institutional Building and planning, monitoring and evaluation of community initiated, led and managed developmental activities/ interventions

Remuneration and Benefits: GOAL pays a monthly salary of birr 6,996.00 (Six thousand nine hundred ninety six birr) and provides benefits:
Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary.
Pension - as per the government pension scheme (11% from the employer and 7% from the employee).
