Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of Finance Manager, the incumbent will undertake all the Financial Management activities of the Area he/she monitors fund utilization activities and ensures that each and every financial under taking are made as per the rules and regulations of the Association and in compliance with donor and other stakeholders requirement.
Summary of Key Functions/Results Expected
Perform the Financial Management activities of the Area Office.
Prepares all payment vouchers in accordance with the financial rules, regulations and appropriate authorization.
Prepares journal vouchers, posts and balance, accounting entries and prepares monthly trial balance and financial statements.
Prepares payroll at the end of every month.
Follows-up outstanding accounts, travel advances, salary advances and other receivable and presents same to the immediate supervisor for appropriate action.
Maintains proper fixed assets register book.
Maintains proper record of store issue and receiving vouchers.
Records all petty cash payments and ensures the accuracy and legality of all receipts before replenishment.
Prepares bank reconciliation statements regularly.
Prepare periodic (monthly, quarterly and annual) financial reports of the Area in accordance with FGAE financial policies and procedures.
Actively participate in the budget preparation and planning sessions.
Provide technical assistance to Work Areas/Project sites on areas of project fund management and strengthening internal control.
Maintain and ensure internal control over all finance related activity of the Area.
Monitor fund utilization activities. Ensure that each and every financial under takings (collections, payments, data processing and reporting) are made as per the rules and regulations of the Association and in compliance with donor and other stakeholders requirement
Insure safe custody of liquid assets and proper management of fixed assets.
Advise program me personnel’s of the Area on financial matters.
Performing such other duties and responsibilities as many be assigned by Head, Finance and Administration Services.
Essential Qualities and Skills
Knowledge of accounting software (Sun Systems)
Commitment to the vision, missions and strategic plan of FGAE.
Conscious of Government policies and awareness of donor funding interests.
Ability to withstand pressure and proven experience and ability to effectively manage a varied workload, and meeting of deadlines and schedules.
Energetic and enthusiastic approach to work, willingness to travel to work areas and function with minimum supervision

Qualification : BA in Accounting or Finance
Experience: 5 years of relevant experience
