JOB SUMMARY:
The procurement Officer is accountable for ensuring the overall programme and project procurement and supplies are met and delivered in accordance with timescales set and agreed with programme staff and SC systems, polices, and procedures.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
· Actively engage in continuous professional development
· Accumulate/gather purchase requests from staffs and maintain a comprehensive register of Purchase order. and contracts, and creates vendors. Performs the Buyer role.
· Ensures that purchase orders are duly prepared and dispatched and takes timely corrective action on purchase Orders with budget check errors and other problems.
· Ensure the effective and efficient use of SC resources in order to obtain the best value for money in the best interest of the organisation.
· Ensure that all procurement and supply requirements are procured and delivered in accordance with timescales set and agreed with the requesting departments/ projects.
· Ensuring that purchase payments are effected timely; and goods are delivered in accordance with timescales set and agreed with programme coordinators; ensure that after sale services are given by the suppliers, warranty period is maintained to the advantage of SC
