Position Title: General Nursing (GN) Program Coordinator

Overall Job Objectives:
Under the supervision of the GNCBP lead and, the GN Program Coordinator work closely with the FMoH, RHBs, professional associations and other GN nursing partners and stakeholders
Major Duties and responsibilities:
The responsibilities of ICAP/ GN Program Coordinator will:
· Coordinate and lead the implementation of GN program activities in support of the national pre-service nursing & midwifery education program.
· Work closely and collaboratively with partners to support development and coordination of strategies for in-service educational models to prepare nurses/midwives to practice in diverse health settings.
· Provide high level support in partner coordination and development, implementation and monitoring of GN activities.
· In consultation with the ICAP/GNCBP lead, identify priority issues to discussed at National Nursing Technical Advisory Working Group (NNATWG) meetings
· Undertake regular supportive supervision and mentorship visits to ICAP supported ICAP/GNCBP-supported health facilities
· Develop benchmarks and evaluate program performance regularly
· Submit monthly reports to the Program Lead on activities pertaining to GN program.
· Execute other activities assigned by her/his immediate supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
· Minimum of a BSs degree in Nursing/Midwifery
· Minimum of five years’ experience in clinical nursing and midwifery in the public health sector
· Knowledge of the country health care delivery system and midwifery and nursing health workforce in the country
· Evidence of having worked with regional and international nursing and midwifery associations and organizations
· Knowledge of and experience with program planning, performance monitoring and evaluation, and management of financial and human resource administration.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships in a challenging environment
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English
· Proficiency in basic computing skills
