Role Summery
The regional Program Manager, under the guidance and technical support of the Deputy Country Manager Programs will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of SAFE strategy for trachoma control in 8 zones of Oromia regional state. S/he closely works with and provides support to the Regional programme Team, Zonal, and Regional Health Offices in strengthening the implementation of the WHO endorsed SAFE strategy for the elimination of blinding trachoma. S/he will be based in Adama town and is required to travel extensively to project areas.
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and programme implementation
· The Regional Program Manager is responsible for guiding overall programmatic activities (planning, implementation, reporting and monitoring and evaluation);
· Provide effective management support to the regional program team to carry out their roles and responsibilities towards achieving the program goal and objectives.
· Ensure the project staff have clear work plans and receive regular feedback of their performance.
· Managing partnership with regional, Zonal and woreda levels,
· Manages program budgets and ensures that projects are implemented as approved and within budget, and in accordance with FHF, donor and global humanitarian policies and guidelines,
· lead the development of the detail implementation plan and guide implementation of a program and ensure monitoring project progress towards program objectives
· Represent the foundation with the regional and zonal level partners and donors and builds partnership with all stakeholders in the project zones
· Develop a program evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the program and to identify areas for improvement
· Performs out assignments as may be required and as directed by the Deputy Country Manager, programmes
Compliance and planning
· Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures of The Foundation and take all reasonable care that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others in The Foundation.
Other Responsibilities:
· Assist the country programme team in Addis to ensure dissemination of positive program achievements that demonstrate the breadth and effectiveness of the Foundation’s work in the region.
· Represent FHF Ethiopia in appropriate regional level partnership discussions, meetings and conferences when required.

Person Specification /Qualification
Essential:
· Proven experience in managing multiple projects at a time Experience and skills requirements
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
· Very good computer skills and
· Familiarity with National Health policy of Ethiopia and Particularly of eye Health
· Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
· Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and implement programme
· Employ problem-solving skills and analysis
Desirable
· Hands on experience in trachoma programs in an international NGO setting.
· Experience in managing health projects in international NGO setting
Skills and Attributes:
· Should be an excellent team player, positive change manager and result-oriented personality
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly, coupled with ability to influence, advise, and work with partners at all levels

• Fluency in English and Afan Oromo
• Proficiency in computer use in office applications and internet
