FHI 360, through the USAID African Union Partnership (AUP) program, is providing technical assistance to the African Union Commission (AUC) to strengthen youth economic empowerment in Africa. Within the AUC, FHI 360 is providing technical support to the Human Resource, Science and Technology (HRST) department which is implementing one of the flagship youth programs, the AU Youth Volunteer Corps (AU-YVC).
The AU-YVC, launched in December 2010, is a continental development program that recruits and works with youth volunteers from within the African Union and the Diaspora, to work in all 54 countries across the African Union. It brings youth people together to share skills, knowledge, creativity and learning with an aim to deepen the status of young people in Africa as key participants in the efforts to meet Africa’s human development targets and goals.
In order to strengthen and scale up the AU-YVC program and ensure its effective implementation, FHI 360 through the USAID-AUP program is recruiting a Consultant Website Developer, to be seconded to the AUC, for a period of six (6) months. The Website Developer will carry out duties related to the virtualization of the division’s activities and enable the AUC virtualize the application, management and tracking of volunteers on the field.

REPORTS TO: Contractual direction from the Technical Officer, FHI 360, with technical direction from the Head of the Division in charge of Youth Development, AUC.
