We are looking for a Local Quality Controller/Technician for Woven Supply Chain based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,
ACCOUNTABILITY
The Quality Controller/Technician will be accountable to: • Identify problems or potential problems with samples • Find solutions to problems to secure bulk production • Work with Senior/Merchandiser on all requests • Make sure that all samples and bulk have approved fit • Work within the timeline to secure Time of delivery (TOD)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
PRODUCT CONTROL • Be involved at the sample stage • Conduct Sample/QC-file hand over meetings • Attend pre-production meetings on certain orders with the Supplier/ Factory • Perform Inspections using H&M’s tools and methods • Make sure that all H&M requirements are being followed in production • Make sure that the order is produced according to the approved counter sample • Perform follow up on Requirements for Quality System (RQS) / Guideline for Production & Quality (GPQ) Control • Always keep the basic requirements for Sustainability in mind
DEVELOPMENTS/QUOTATIONS • Analyze the developments/quotations and make sure that all is clear. If not go back to the Buying Office and ask for clarification • Conduct a risk assessment on all samples at the initial stage • Suggest alternatives in order to reach best fit quality. Work together with Senior/ Merchandiser on all requests • Suggest which supplier from a technician’s point of view the request should be sent to • Get back the quotation from the suppliers and analyze the quality. • Check the fitting/workmanship/grading of the garment to ensure H&M standard • Send best samples to buyer
SAMPLE CONTROL • Check workmanship, measurements & fitting. • Identify problems or potential problems on offer sample/style sample • Find solutions to solve problems in order to ensure bulk production. Give options to the Buying Office • Check if the received sample is improved according to last comments
COOPERATION
• Cooperate with production team, buying office and suppliers to secure the best garments
Job Requirement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION • Graduate from any reputed university in textiles/ready wear education; pattern maker; pattern education • Free hand program
WORK EXPERIENCE • At least 2 years of experience in a similar position in a supplier or representative office. Experience in a sample room will be an advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
• Good command of English • Good command of Microsoft applications • Good technical knowledge and experience • Experience in a supplier and pattern knowledge • Wash knowledge will be an added advantage.
