GOAL is an Irish based international NGO with Programmes in Humanitarian Response, Rural Development and the street children. The Humanitarian Response Programme focus on nutrition intervention activities, working with the ministry of Health to monitor the nutrition, health and food security status with its current intervention areas in Oromiya, SNNPR and Amhara Region. The Rural Development Programme focus on health, education, nutrition, water and sanitation with cross cutting issues in gender, environment protection and HIV/AIDS, in Sidama, Borena and West Hararghe Programme Offices. Incorporated into the Rural and Urban Development Programme, the ChildSPACE Programme works with ‘of the street’ children and youth working and living on the street by focusing on the strengths of children and young people; and through partnership building, collaboration and networking with various stake holders, the programme supports diverse community structures and initiatives through approaches that are Strength, Street and Partnership and Networking focused. The ChildSPACE programme is delivered by GOAL and directly by local partners in Addis Ababa and Hawassa. Cross-cutting issues include gender, the environment, child protection and HIV/AIDS. GOAL Ethiopia utilizes a strengths based approach to all development activities.
GOAL is looking for a highly motivated and capable professional to fill the post of Project Officer who will be responsible for directly implementing and monitoring HPP project interventions, with the support from the field office Program Manager, Senior Livelihoods Officer and Senior Livelihoods Programme Advisor. The HPP project officer will work closely with grassroots staff including Community Development Workers and other technical Officers (Health, WASH and Gender) and expected to contribute to the development of an appropriate and effective country level strategy for emergency and long-term Livelihoods interventions, and new projects designing, through documenting and sharing challenges and lessons from the project intervention process.
· BSc in Agriculture, DRM and sustainable development or related field or Diploma in similar fields with a minimum of 2 and 4 years of work experience respectively for BSc & Diploma preferably with an NGO.
· Field experience in agriculture or disaster risk management in NGO environment.
· Good experience in the use and development of a wide range of PRA skills.
· Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with community and local government organisations.
· Flexible and creative, highly motivated and able to take the initiative and work unsupervised.
· Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written and knowledge of local language, Oromiffaa is mandatory.
· Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Remuneration and Benefits: GOAL pays a monthly salary of 9,442.00 (Nine thousand four hundred forty two birr) provides benefits like;
§ Transportation Allowance, 10% of monthly salary.
§ Pension - as per the government pension scheme (11% from the employer and 7% from the employee).
§ Medical Allowance, birr 6500/annum.
§ Hardship Allowance, 30% of monthly salary.
