The Project Manager-Energy will be responsible for the following activities:
1. Overall program management for energy reduction in Heineken Ethiopia
2. Leading the TPM improvement teams related to Energy
3. Ensure safe operation of utilities in the breweries
4. Implement and update UBM (Utility Benchmark Model) in all breweries
5. Prepare energy improvement plans for each brewery and drive implementation of improvement projects
6. Maintenance Management in utilities
7. Cost management
8. Project management in new installations and improvement investments
- Ensure compliance to Heineken and local safety standards and procedures. Ensure that these are in place, especially the ones related to utilities
- Stay up-to-date with new regulatory, local and HEINEKEN safety rules, standards and procedures, especially those related to utilities. Ensure that these are implemented across the breweries timely
- Analyze the safety impact where there are changes of materials, installations, procedures, etc and manage the change process.
- Lead various TPM improvement teams in utilities
- Lead the RBC process in utilities
- Systematically collect good practices to be implemented in breweries, support and drive implementation of good practices.
- Partner OpCo and brewery TPM coordinators in implementing TPM activities across utilities
- Audit breweries frequently, propose and implement improvement measures. Follow TPM routes in doing so.
- Contribute to the Focused Improvements (FI) Pillar improvement routes
- Translate HEINEKEN and local rules, standards and procedures into practical work instructions (e.g. SOP, CILT, OPL)
- Effectively analyze, control and correct the utility processes in order to meet performance requirements
- Monitor agreed services and contribute to the evaluation of (external) service providers
- Identify and implement energy improvements on three levels:
i. Energy Generation
ii. Energy distribution
iii. Energy consumers
Maintenance Management
- SLA management in utilities, working together with OEMs
- Ensure that correct maintenance practices and procedures are in place in utilities
- Analyze performance indicators of equipment (e.g. MTBT, MTBA, MTTR, MTBF) to identify loss reduction opportunities
- Proactively support EEM activities in Capex projects
- Support PM pillar implementation in utilities
Cost Management
- Plan the budget for improvement of team/project activities including cost benefit analysis
- Develop clear investment application proposals, with the main underlying assumptions and correct Net Present Value (NPV) parameters
- Understand and interpret financial reports, identifying areas requiring action or areas of opportunity
Project Management
- Formulate and present a project plan including scope, planning, deliverables and budget
- Deliver the project in line with project objectives, budget and planning
- Define and manage the interaction and responsibilities between project and line organization/Brewery processes
- Define operational needs related to the project (e.g. training needs related to a Capex project)
- Understand and review the impact of the project on:
– Systems like HACCP, ISO, MCRS/DCS
– SOPs, CILTs
– Documentation/drawings
- Contribute to the company’s health and safety policy
- TPM
o TPM team member (AM, PM and FI) when requested
- Disciplined, organized and with ‘drive to win’ mentality
- Team player and strong organizational and leadership skills
- Attention to details
- Education: B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years’ experience in Utilities and/or project management setup (a hands on experience is highly desirable)
- Language: very good command of English and Amharic
- Computers: MS office (strong in excel, project management)
- Special conditions
o Available, in case of emergencies, 24/7
o Willing to travel frequently to the breweries (80% of time will be spent in Bedele, Harar and Kilinto breweries implementing various improvement programs)
