Provide support in the implementation of integrated approach to improve the nutritional and health status of vulnerable communities Program Kabri-Daher District of Korahe zone, Somali region. Ensure supervision of project objectives and stimulate the team in the absence of program manager.
Responsibility:
1: Animate and follow the activities through compilation and treatment of data:
Ensure that the databases and data analysis and activities indicators are followed-up and harmonized
Ensure continuous evaluation of methods and follow-up of projects, propose improvement
Participate in analysing and drafting activity reports and evaluation of those responsible for projects
Propose and manage food security assessment and reports
2: Implement suitable food security activities:
Ensure implementation of activities defined by deputy manager
Plan and follow-up the activities according the projects' expected development
Evaluate and update the projects' needs (finance, HR and Logistic)
Elaborate appropriate questionnaires
Participate in identification of communities beneficiaries among the communities
Apply the follow-up and supervision tools for the projects
Identify and inform the head of project if any problems and constraints encountered
Ensure follow-up of project's progress and write suitable report
Propose solution and improvement concerning the project progress
Coordinate activities and sensitize local partners in the field
3: Sustain internal and external coordination meeting:
Participate in food security department meetings
Participate in internal and external coordination meetings
Analyze and build on experience in order to share lessons learnt
Propose new direction for project
4: Follow-up food security situations:
Follow-up of availability and affordability of staple food items (locally produced and imported foods) on the market
Record and analyze the prices of staple food items on the market
Follow-up of livestock availability and record prices of livestock on the livestock market
Follow-up of livestock diseases and report any diseases outbreak immediately
Follow-up livestock condition and productivity
Local Cereal crops production follow-up
Pasture/graze and water availability follow-up
5: Support staffs members:
Participate in the recruitment of new staffs
Inform the head of the program the training needs;
Develop training topics and train staffs members
Explain and ensure the application of food security methodologies
6: Represent the organization when dealing with partners:
Participate at Zonal and woreda level meetings and workshops when needed;
Explain the project's activities and objectives to the partners and the population
Assist the head of project in participation of coordination meetings
Act link between the organization and beneficiaries
Additional responsibilities might be given based on work load
Job Requirement
Qualifications/Skills
BA/BSc Degree in Agriculture/Animal Health/science or in related field of studies from a recognized university or college with minimum three years of professional experience of agricultural fields, experience in humanitarian organizations is advantageous.
Good knowledge of problematic of humanitarian crises - Good knowledge of project implementation - Good analytical capacity - Capacity to supervise team and team spirit - Good technical knowledge on food security - Good knowledge of computer (minimum Word, Excel) - Good knowledge of English (fluent speaking and excellent writing) - Good knowledge on working areas, local language and culture (Somali).
