DAHW (Development and Health Worldwide) is an independent non-governmental organization that works to prevent and controlLeprosy, TB and Neglected Tropical Diseases likeBuruli Ulcer, and others. It also works to reduce poverty by focusing on people with disability. Today, DAHW is actively working in 20 countries worldwide.
DAHW gets its donations from individual donors in Germany,andalsoreceives funding from a range of donors, including WHO, TB Reach, UNICEF, Novartis etc.
DAHW is a growing and ambitious organization with a clear vision and strategy for our future development. In order to achieve its vision, in addition to country offices in different parts of the world, the organization has established 4 regional coordinating bodies in different parts of the world, including East Africa.
Presently DAHW is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Co-Funding Expert to join the East African team. Based in one of East African countries, the incumbent will work closely with the funding team at HQ and mostly with our program staff and implementing partners in the region.
Job Purpose: The post holder will contribute to the implementation of DAHW funding strategy.

Reporting: HQ regional team leader, Country/Regional Representatives
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Finding funding opportunities
Researching and identifying suitable sources of funding (international, national, regional and local) within DAHW offices in East Africa.
Identifying projects within DAHW which would be attractive to different funding sources
Maintain a thorough understanding of DAHW’s activities in order to communicate about them effectively
Liaising with colleagues internally, and if necessary any external stakeholders, about potential funding opportunities
Ensuring a close fit between funding source and DAHW’s strategy, services and organizational priorities
(Searching for cross-border project funding opportunities, and networking with them).
2. Submitting applications and proposals
Planning carefully to ensure sufficient time to complete the highest quality applications
Gathering information(regional and/or country specific) for both the narrative and financial elements of applications/bids
Working with finance officers on the development of appropriate budgets and reporting information
Ensuring all necessary documentation is forwarded to the funding body as requested
Submitting applications to deadline
3. Manage the reporting process
Manage donor relations for existing and new grants, including negotiating grant contracts as required
Support program teams and work with the finance departments to prepare timely and accurate narrative and financial reports in line with contractual requirements
Support the effective monitoring and evaluation of grants
Terms and conditions:
Annual salary range: competitive plus bonus per the organization salary scale, please state your salary requests
Leave entitlement: this depends where the person will be based
Working Hours: 40h
Contract duration: Initially Two Years (six month probation time)

Job Requirement
Required Qualification and Experience
A master’s degreein economics, finance, administration or related field, with at least five years of working experience, preferably in Eastern Africa
At least three years of relevant fundraising experience and proven track record of success
Required skills
Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce concise and relevant proposals
Good knowledge of health and disability situation in Eastern Africa
High standard of computer literacy
Fluent in English; both writing and speaking. Arabic is an asset
Meticulous attention to detail
Ability to plan and work within agreed timeframes
Ability to understand and generate budgets
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with staff based in different countries and time zones and to present to funding bodies
