With duty station in Addis Ababa in the Division of Finance you will be responsible to:
Check the completeness and validity of payment requests before effecting payments.
Check the accuracy of all payment requests against the annual operational and capital expenditure budgets allotted to each unit.
Assist the unit in the budget preparation and consolidation of all units’ budgets for review.
Prepare monthly budget tracking report of the exchange and provide variance analysis report in accordance with the Exchange deadlines.
Support the unit by controlling the budget utilization of each working unit.
Verify coding and data entry in to the accounting system ensuring it remains effective and operational at all times.
Check the account balances of all accounts against the general ledger report and take remedial action in consultation with the immediate supervisor where inconsistencies occur.
Analyze financial ratios of the exchange and give opinions on the results thereof.
Assist the unit in the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statements and cash flow statement and advice the Unit Manager about the financial status of the exchange.
Ensure all ECX assets are monitored and accurately accounted for.
Support the unit in updating “chart of accounts” in conformity with the budget code.
Collate all relevant information to produce end of year accounts report for the exchange.
Suggest better working procedures by reviewing the internal activities of the unit.

Required Qualification and Experience
Strong organizational and Technical skills.
Ability to see the big picture while focusing on the process and procedures necessary to produce deliverables.
Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
Ability to meet and establish deadlines.
Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
BA in Accounting & Five + years of experience, including two years of supervisory responsibility. Checker/ Controller or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
Experience in forecasting and budgeting.
