I. Position Summary
Job summary
The Biomass production manager is involved with the planning, coordination and control of production processes. Working closely with refugee cooperative, the biomass production manager will ensure that the energy services are produced efficiently and that the correct amount is produced at the right cost and level of quality.
II. Detailed duties and responsibilities
· In charge of starting-up of biomass briquet-ting factory
· Overseeing the sesame production process, drawing up a production schedule of the biomass ;
· Ensuring that the cost effective of production;
· Ensuring provision of theoretical and practical trainings on briquette production, group formation and development, and basic business skills will be provided for the refugee cooperative.
· Ensuring quality control of briquettes;
· Working with other staff to ensure supply of raw materials is secured
· Working closely with cooperative to hire human resources required;
· Drafting a timescale for the sesame biomass production task;
· Estimating costs and setting the quality standards;
· Monitoring the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed;
· Participating in selection of biomass equipment
· Ensuring regular maintenance of biomass equipment;
· Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programmes;
· Liaising among different departments and stakeholders
· Working with managers to implement ZOA's policies and goals;
· Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed;
· Supervising and motivating a team of workers;
· Conducting field inspections of biomass plants, stations, or substations to ensure normal and safe operating conditions
· Monitoring the operating status of biomass plants by observing control system parameters, distributed control systems, switchboard gauges, dials, or other indicators
· Operating controls to start, stop, or regulate biomass-fueled generators, generator units, boilers, engines, or auxiliary systems
· Plan and schedule plant activities such as wood, waste, or refuse fuel deliveries, ash removal, and regular maintenance
· Reviewing worker performance;
III. Position Requirements
· B.Sc or Masters Degree in degree in Energy, Engineering, Applied Science or other relevant field preferred.
· Minimum 3 years’ relevant and equivalent level experience working within the energy sector on biomass briquetting production or related industry.

o Competent capability and familiarity with energy systems and energy planning tools is an asset
o Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and communication skills, with an ability to interact effectively with a range of stakeholders
