JOB SUMMARY
The Empowering New Generations to Improve Nutrition and Economic Opportunities (ENGINE) Program is an integrated nutrition program intended to decrease maternal, neonatal and child mortality by improving the nutritional status of women and children less than 5 years through sustainable, comprehensive and coordinated evidence-based interventions. ENGINE is a technical assistance project that supports implementation of NNP. Some of the result areas of the projects are to improve the policy environment, capacity building, and operational research for nutrition. It is funded by USAID under Feed the Future.
The senior policy, capacity building, and research advisor for NNP will be responsible for providing strategic support for MOH in policy, multi-sectoral coordination, capacity building, and utilization of research findings for decision making.

Education:
Experience:
Minimum of ten years’ experience designing and implementing nutrition programs or building capacity of Ministry of Health at national level
Significant expertise providing technical assistance to project/host country government staffs working on nutrition programs especially around national programming, Policy, multi-sectoral programs and interpretation of research for decision making
Solid experience in research analytical and interpretation of research and preparing policy papers for decision making.
Experience working on Policy dialogue and Advocacy on nutrition or health programs
Demonstrated skills in designing and implementing programs that deliver nutrition services,
Prior experience developing and managing community-based health programs in developing countries
Extensive experience working in Ethiopia
Skills:
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
