Summary Statement of Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the youth and Livelihoods Officer, the Youth and Livelihood Program Assistant is responsible for the program design, implementation and monitoring and evaluation of youth centered and livelihood program activities in Myayni Refugee Camp.
Key Responsibilities:
· In collaboration with youth and livelihoods officer support youth in the identification of community problems and the design of appropriate community -led actions.
· Work closely with the youth and livelihoods officer to prepare activity and spending plan for Youth and Livelihoods activities.
· Design, implement, and evaluate club-led youth activities, which include sports, art, music, drama, and youth clubs.
· Organize special events such as sports matches, dances, and cultural performances;
· Facilitate quarterly in-service trainings on topics such as leadership, conflict resolution, Entrepreneurship, Youth volunteerism, life skills to youth leaders.
· Assist the youth leaders and peer educators to support the elderly, disabled, vulnerable children and women in the camp
· Oversee youth-led activities that address the care and support of human beings, environment protection, and animals care.
· Facilitate life skill discussions or Youth Kit Action (YAK) discussions at a camp or block level.
· In collaboration with the youth and livelihoods officer, assess and survey refugee vocational needs and evaluate the marketability, feasibility and sustainability of proposed skill training.
· Develop lesson plans and training materials and revise the business and life skills curriculum to meet trainees need.
· Deliver training for refugee youth on basic business and life skills based on developed curricula.
· Work closely in organizing and capacity building for community based associations (women association, persons with disability and elderly people)
· Assist Integrated Entrepreneurship education and skill training trainers in the development of curriculum, lesson planning and training materials.
· Assist the youth and livelihoods officer in Monthly procurement and budget tracking with regular follow up of the budget trucking sheet and make sure that whether it corresponds to current BVA or not.
· Maintain records and provide monthly reports to the youth and livelihoods officer.
· In collaboration with the youth and livelihoods officer evaluate the effectiveness of the program and recommended changes in goals, objectives, interventions strategies, measurable out puts and time lines.
· Monitor day to day activities of Youth leaders and peer educators for its accuracy.
· Ensure strong linkages with ARRA, UNHCR, woreda sport and youth office, Refugee Central Committee and Women Association and other implementing partners
· Perform other duties as assigned by his/her immediate supervisor.
