GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of development, resiliency and humanitarian responses - working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders. Currently GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID/OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid/MAPS, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA.GOAL currently work in over 25 woredas across four Regions of Ethiopia and we deliver a range of programs including child protection, development, nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation. In 2005 GOAL, in partnership with USAID/OFDA, established the Humanitarian Response Programme (HRP) to respond to emergency nutrition situations in Ethiopia. This programme has grown substantially over the years, and is now multi-donor and multi-sectorial, with interventions throughout Ethiopia.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced Mechanic to join Head Office, Transport team and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. You will be joining the organization at a moving time of growth and change and you’ll be responsible for the overall condition and safety of GOAL vehicles and other machines (generators) by ensuring high quality workmanship, regular servicing and supervision of vehicle & motors maintenance.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be a Mechanic experienced and will be responsible on ensuring that all GOAL vehicles are maintained at each field office & location with a high standard; serviced in-house regularly and any maintenance work (except special machine & body work) is done. The objective is reducing vehicle maintenance and running cost, ensuring high level safety standard, and making vehicle available for duty at all times.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Diploma in Auto mechanics from technical school with a minimum of 4 years relevant work experience.
· 3rd grade driving license or equivalent.
· Excellent related technical skill and application to maintain vehicles, motorbikes and generators
· Willing to travel to field sites.
· English Language particularly to refer service manuals and reports.
· Good communication and interpersonal skill
· Knowledge of Injection System and Auto Electric skill.
· Team oriented, flexible and creative approach; keen to take initiative where appropriate.
· Accountability & responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
· Sensitive to cross cutting issues like gender, accountability, child protection and HIV/AIDS.
Desirable requirements:
· Having an INGO experience will be an advantageous.
· Highly motivated and able to work independently.
· Good computer skills.
· 3rd grade Driving license.
· Managing work under pressure.

Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary
Birr 7,625.00/month
Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly salary and additional 300 birr taxi fare.
Medical Allowance - Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
