GOAL has been working in Ethiopia since 1984 implementing a range of development, resiliency and humanitarian responses - working with street children, pastoralists and rural small holders. Currently GOAL Ethiopia's major funders are USAID/OFDA, ECHO, BPRM, Irish Aid/MAPS, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA.GOAL currently work in over 25 woredas across four Regions of Ethiopia and we deliver a range of programs including child protection, development, nutrition, emergency relief and rehabilitation. In 2005 GOAL, in partnership with USAID/OFDA, established the Humanitarian Response Programme (HRP) to respond to emergency nutrition situations in Ethiopia. This programme has grown substantially over the years, and is now multi-donor and multi-sectorial, with interventions throughout Ethiopia.
ABOUT THE ROLE
GOAL Ethiopia is looking for a competent, motivated, experienced worker to join GOAL Ethiopia, HRP team and this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team. You will be joining the organization at a moving time of growth and change and you’ll be instrumental in providing support in the delivery of the Program to the organisation and its employees.
ABOUT YOU
You'll be an experienced Regional Logistics Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring that all GOAL logistics polices paper trail and procedures are properly and adequately understood and implemented across all logistics functions at the field offices. In consultation with and under the guidance of the logistics staff you should continuously work on implementation of the recommendations and changes as deemed necessary, work towards the proper implementation of the Logistics Manual and liaising with Roving logistics coordinator at Head Office with regards to the above-mentioned logistics issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
· BA/Diploma in Purchasing and Supplies Management or related field
· Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in logistics management in an international NGO for BA holder and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience for Diploma holder out of which 1-2 years should be at supervisory level for both qualifications,
· Good experience in managing complex emergency logistics operations,
· Able to work with little supervision and initiative to a good degree,
· Experience liaising with government bodies, UN agencies and other NGOs,
· Familiarity with USAID/OFDA, EU/ECHO, Irish Aid/EHAF, UNOCHA and other donors procurement guidelines is an advantage,
· Excellent team leader and builder, communicator, facilitator and trainer, flexible and capable of working with an international/country team,
· Ability and experience in change management, including implementing new systems and bringing new and existing staff ‘on board’,
· Experience of managing security issues in insecure/hostile environments,
· Demonstrated management skills to deal with a myriad of tasks,
· Very good planning & organizing skills, very good orientation to detail,
· Good computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel and Database,
· Willing to travel and based recurrently to rural field sites with a basic living condition
· Very good written & spoken English communication skill, knowledge of local culture and being a Newer language speaker is an advantage,
· Accountability and responsiveness within areas of responsibilities,
Desirable requirements:
· Knowledge and application of advanced excel.
· Knowledge of local langue
Remuneration & Benefits:
Salary
Birr 14,386.00/month
Transportation Allowance - 10% of monthly Salary
Medical Allowance - Birr 6500/annum (will be added in your monthly salary)
Hardship Allowance – 30% - 50% of monthly salary based on place of assignment
Pension – 11 % from the employer and 7 % from the employee
