JOB SUMMARY
The Procurement Officer is accountable for ensuring the overall programme procurement and supplies are met and delivered in accordance with timescales set and agreed with programme staff and SC systems, polices, and procedures.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Ensure the effective and efficient use of SC resources in order to obtain the best value for money in the best interest of the organisation.
Ensure that all procurement and supply requirements are procured and delivered in accordance with timescales set and agreed with the requesting departments/projects.
Maintain a comprehensive central electronic register of all supply orders and submit regular monthly report on the whereabouts of these orders.
Compile relevant government policies, proclamations and regulations regarding supplies, procurement, importation, Tax related issues and others to enable SC to access the most cost-effective means and to be in line with government policies and regulations
Conduct regular market analysis of SC required items and provide quarterly reports to the Logistics Coordinator/ ASSM
Facilitate computer and assets and property repair/s maintenance services with agreed maintenance service providers
Arrange transport facilities and hire transporters and labourers for transporting, loading and unloading of goods
Comply with all relevant Save the Children policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, security, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
To be considered for the post applicant must have:
BA degree in purchasing, supplies management and other related field of studies
At least 5 years of experience working in supplies, procurement, logistics co-ordination and Administrative support functions.
· Proven work experience in auto mechanics workshops and/or garages.
Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
