JOB Summary
This role will be responsible for the project management and successful delivery of the next improvement phase in Ethiopia’s Award Management Change Project. This is a critical position to ensure required inputs, processes, outputs and outcomes are delivered in line with Ethiopia Senior Management Team expectations.
The Ethiopia Award Management Change Project is an interpretation of the SCI Global Award (Grant) Management Change Project (AMCP) is a project to standardise the roles and responsibilities of various functions in award management in SCI Ethiopia. Ethiopia Country Program has already made huge strides in implementing this from July 2014 – December 2015. This second phase is to consider cross-departmental integration, decentralization, process and role re-clarification, tools development and capacity building. This will ensure sustainable award management which delivers on Save the Children’s essential standards, acts as an enabler for successful programme delivery for children, in line with Donor and SC Member expectations. This should also ensure equitably distributed workload and clarity on resource requirements and tasks across the organization for effective award management, enabling space for talent development and growth.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Capacity Building · Support Award Capacity Building Manager to identify capacity gaps and define detailed capacity building plan to enable successful Award Management Change Project implementation and sustainability. · Ensure planning is collaborative and sustainable, reflecting the views of relevant stakeholders across the Ethiopia Country Programme. · Work with relevant stakeholders to track progress and flag issues to Awards Director

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
QUALIFICATIONS
· Relevant academic qualification (Masters, Bachelors, or equivalent) in the field of international development or social/political science.
· Recognised qualification in Project Management
· Preferable qualification in organisational development /equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE
· Experience and in-depth knowledge of project management practices and standards and methodologies including Prince2, PMI etc.
· Ability to deliver projects on time and on budget, using project management processes and tools including risk management, benefits management, financial management and quality assurance
· Experience in implementing change projects in the NGO sector
· Ideally experience with award (grant) management
· Cultural awareness and experience of delivering solutions internationally
· Experience of managing a small project team and working effectively cross-functionally
· Experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY
· Ability to resolve issues swiftly and decisively whilst safeguarding standards and procedures
· Proven attention for detail and ability to effectively manage a high volume of data and information
· Excellent communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and present to key stakeholders
· Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, together with the ability to influence and motivate others
ü The role will involve liaison with a wide range of people and will require a proven track record in dealing with people at all levels with credibility, tact and diplomacy
ü Demonstrated ability to remain objective/neutral
· Willingness and ability to travel throughout Ethiopia
Scope & complexity of decision making
Able to make decisions using creativity and some independent judgement within realm of current scope of work; Decisions typically made in order to resolve and adapt current solutions or introduce new procedures and practices. Able to seek Senior Management / Awards Director input for issues requiring SMT approval
