ROLE PURPOSE:
Integrated Drought Response in Sitti and Fanfan Zones of Somali Region, Ethiopia, the proposed project will contribute to OFDA’s mandate of saving lives, alleviating human suffering, and reducing the social and economic impact of disasters, with a focus on one of the most severely drought affected regions in Ethiopia – the Somali Region – as it feels the full force of the country’s worst drought in 50 years. Save the Children’s (SCI) Ethiopia Country Office (EthCO) has markedly increased its response to the current drought, and is seeking funding from OFDA, to deliver an emergency program comprising of:
This project will be funded by USAID / OFDA over 12 month’s period with goal to prevent excess mortality, meet the immediate needs and facilitate recovery of households in five Woredas of Somali Region, affected by the current drought
The Nutrition technical Specialist will be responsible for providing strategic support and coordination with RHB and woreda health office in multi - sectorial action for Health and Nutrition in the Siti and Fafan Zone. She/ he will liaise with the office, provide support in terms of supplies facilitation, coordination with stakeholders and develop structural nutrition plan of action in the zones.
