KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is an international non-profit organization dedicated to the fight against tuberculosis (TB). KNCV is the lead partner in Challenge TB, the new USAID-funded 5-year global program. We lead an international consortium comprising eight partner organizations in addition to KNCV: ATS, FHI 360, IRD, JATA, MSH, PATH, The Union, and WHO. In Ethiopia, Challenge TB is being implemented by KNCV as a lead and MSH and WHO as a collaborating partner. The strategic objectives of Challenge TB are to improve access to patient care, to prevent transmission and disease progression, and to strengthen TB platforms.
Challenge TB-Ethiopia operates from a central office in Addis Ababa with sub-offices in other regional states.

Purpose of the job
The Data Clerk & Social Worker is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of ALERT MDR TB Ward by providing support to social work and patient support activities & on data management for MDR-TB activities.
Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities:
Establish a reliable database for MDR-TB related data at ALERT Hospital, MDR TB Ward.
Collect timey data on MDR-TB from the respective units of the hospital such as MDR TB ward laboratory Pharmacy etc, and update the data base regularly
Assist ALERT Hospital, MDR TB Ward in interpretation of data and presentation of results in tabular and graphic forms.
Prepare summary of results about MDR-TB cases enrolment on monthly basis and submit to Urban technical Coordinator and relevant units of ALERT Hospital.
Prepare consolidated progress reports for management including identification of problems, causes of potential bottlenecks in project implementation, and providing specific recommendations.
Guide staff and other units in preparing their progress reports in accordance with approved reporting formats and ensure their timely submission.
Provide general technical support hospital staff for improving data management for TB and other disease programs.
Financial
Recording and handling MDR TB Patient transport allowance payments and providing report to KNCV Finance for the establishment of transport allowance.
Preparing & effecting payment of MDR TB Patients home-to-home assessment payments for ALERT medical staffs on monthly basis.
Maintain appropriate records and filing of documents for internal/external audit as well as other stakeholders.
Supplies Management
Maintain proper records of food supply distribution for MDR TB Patients on daily basis
Prepared monthly food supplies distribution reports and submitted to HR and Administration, and Finance units of KNCV office by 10th of the each month.
Making monthly count and reconciling of the physical stock items with the record.
Request addition stock of food supplies from KNCV HR and Admin office by preparing appropriate documentations.
Reporting and requesting approval for newly registered MDR TB patients to be beneficiary of the support delivered and also report patients who have completed their treatment and cured for resignation for support delivery.
And other tasks based on the instruction of immediate supervisor.
Job Requirement
Education: BA/BSC degree or diploma in social science, nurse, and other relevant field of studies
3-5 years of work experiences in the areas of social work, data entry and handling payments
Familiarity with MDR related data recording and management is preferred
Knowledge of and insight in computer skills, including set up database, and programming
Knowledge and experience in stock management
