About iDE
iDE is an international non-profit dedicated to ending poverty in the developing world not through handouts, but by leveraging markets and creating innovations that improve the health, wealth, and happiness of our clients - those living on $2-3 dollars per day. We have a 33-year history of innovation in agriculture and WASH, are based in 11 countries globally, and have helped more than 23 million people to date. We work in good company with the likes of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, The World Bank, Grand Challenges Canada, USAID, Global Affaires Canada, DFID, European Union, UNICEF, private family foundations, as well as many other bilateral and multilateral supporters. iDE develops the right product designs and business models and works with local businesses to make them available to households at scale. A globally renowned leader in market-based approaches to WASH, iDE has achieved one of the the largest improved rural sanitation marketing programs globally, facilitating more than 200,000 latrine sales in our flagship Cambodia program. Our Ethiopian sanitation marketing program is the most advanced in the country, poised to replicate the scaled impact we’ve seen in Asia.
