Background:
John Snow Inc. (JSI) supports a number of supply chain projects in Ethiopia including the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT and the Vaccine Supply Chain Transition Project, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). JSI is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to support the close out of the USAID | DELIVER PROJECT (November 2016) and the startup and implementation of two new three year projects: AIDSFree Ethiopia (beginning in July 2016) and a BMGF funded vaccine supply chain project (began in May 2016). This is a full time, permanent position.
The Human Resources (HR) Coordinator is responsible for HR processes of JSI. S/he will ensure all JSI HR Systems support the achievement of project goals. S/he will be responsible for maximizing the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.
Overall responsibilities include assuming responsibility for human resources and administering effective personnel policies and procedures that abide by the legal requirements; managing the development and implementation of human resource goals and objectives; providing guidance and support to managers regarding personnel policies and procedures, training, disciplinary action, and other personnel issues; plans, designs, develops staff compensation and benefits programs through arranging proper and competitive salary structures in collaboration with the Finance team.
S/he works in a team with the Finance and Administration Director and Senior Managers/Officers on a day-to-day basis. The HR Coordinator is expected to devote up to 10 % of her/his time for field travel.
