About VIS - Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo

VIS - Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo,  is a non-governmental organization that deals with development cooperation and international solidarity and an educational agency that promotes and organizes awareness-raising, education, training for development and global citizenship.

The association, founded in 1986 on the promotion of the National Center for Salesian Works (CNOS), is inspired by the message of St. John Bosco and his preventive educational system. It operates in 40 countries around the world, in Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Europe. "Together, for a possible world" indicates the intention to network in Italy, Europe and the rest of the world to improve the living conditions of girls, boys, young people in vulnerable conditions and their communities, in the conviction that through education and training the causes of extreme poverty can be tackled at the root. The VIS has the special status of an advisory body recognized by the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) .

It is accredited by ECHO, the Directorate-General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection of the European Commission. It is also part of an international network of Salesian-inspired NGOs, the Don Bosco Network (DBN), as well as of numerous other national and international networks operating in the field of cooperation.
