About Agar Ethiopia Charitable Society
Agar Ethiopia Charitable Society is a non-governmental and a non-profit making humanitarian organization established in 2005, and re-registered as Ethiopian resident Charity in 2009 with Charities and Societies Agency. Agar Ethiopian is implementing two programs named Elderly Support Program (ESP) and Trafficking Victims Reintegration Program (TVRP).
The association is supporting vulnerable elders with monthly cash disbursement and providing medical service since its establishment in 2005 through the Elderly Support Program and provides temporary shelter, food, clothing, sanitary materials, medical treatment, and basic business and vocational skill trainings for women trafficking victims through its Trafficking Victims Reintegration Program. Both programs are being implemented in Addis Ababa. Agar assists women with job placement including organizing them into cooperatives and providing seed money. The organization works on community outreach activities through workshops, weekly transmitted radio programs and dissemination of informative materials. The activities of the association are expanding thus requiring committed and professional management.
