About John Snow, Inc. The USAID | DELIVER PROJECT, funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development and managed by John Snow, Inc., strengthens public sector health commodity supply chains and commodity security (CS) by providing technical assistance in health commodity information systems, inventory management, warehousing, and training/capacity-building. In Ethiopia, DELIVER actively supports the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s Integrated Pharmaceutical Logistics System (formerly the Pharmaceutical Logistics Master Plan) by working directly on supply chain strengthening with PFSA; the Ministry’s Federal, Regional, Zonal and Woreda levels; and its hospitals, health centers, and health posts.

John Snow Inc. (JSI) has been providing support to PFSA for a number of years for supply chain management of essential medicines and has received funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to support this new vaccine work. The project provides technical assistance to the Pharmaceutical Funds and Supplies Agency (PFSA), that assume responsibility for the management of the vaccine supply chain, in planning for and implementing a new vaccine supply chain management. PFSA is an autonomous FMOH agency responsible for all aspects of supply chain management for health commodities for the public sector. In 2013, it was decided that PFSA should begin to assume responsibility for vaccine supply chain management. The project aims to contribute to the successful management of vaccines and the cold chain within PFSA's integrated commodity management system.
