Duties and Responsibilities
The Capital Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the various expansion and capital projects going on in the Company. This will include overall budget development, project management, implementation, and handover. Projects may be internal to existing farms and external new projects. The Project Manager is expected to have experience in construction and development projects, land acquisition, and commissioning of machinery. Background in engineering preferred.
Land Acquisition and Development
* Identify suitable land locations and initiate new land applications in for expansion projects
* Follow-up the land acquisition process with Land Administration Offices
* Secure title deed, carta, site plan, and all other legal instruments required for land
* Oversee Environmental and Social Impact Assessments required for site development
* Make sure that the project site meets the industry accepted guidelines and regulations
Design, Contracting, and Construction Oversight
* Liaise with architects, engineers, and internal staff to develop site plans and building designs
* Manage competitive tendering process to select and contract contractors and supervisors
* Oversee the work of supervisors and contractors during construction phase
* Conduct regular site visits to ensure work quality is compliant and up to expectation
* Manage handover of the project from the contractors and site supervisor after quality check
* Handover site to operations team once development is completed
* Monitor the payment schedules for all capital projects and equipment
Capital Project Management
* Liaise with professionals and internal staff to select capital equipment suitable for the Company
* Manage competitive bidding process among international and local suppliers for the
procurement of material and equipment in liaison with respective units.
* Coordinate the installation and commissioning of new machinery and capital equipment.
Project Finance and Supplier Management
* Initiate bank financing applications as required depending on the project.
* Follow-up bank financing applications through to final approval.
Monitoring and Evaluation
* Make summary weekly or monthly reports on the progress of the projects, current status and
challenges encountered
* Make advisory reports to the chief operating officer based on current ongoing projects and
forecasted projects
* Carry out detail analysis of the project feasibility to the company objectives.
* Recommend and implement agreed areas of cost management on the project development
phase
* In consultation with the project designer, develop a repairs and maintenance plan for the
commissioned project and handover to the relevant site manager of the COO.
Capital Budget Development and Implementation
* Develop a yearly budget by month to be discussed with the Chief Operating Officer
* Implementation and monitoring of approved budget
* Develop cost saving management initiatives for Capital projects.
* Management of subordinates by developing work plans and coordination.
Qualifications Required
* Degree in Building and Construction Engineering or Project management
Experience
* Minimum 4 years of experience in Managing Expansive projects
