The United States Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) Ethiopia office would like to recruit a short term accountant (three months) to perform the following activities:
Execute payment requests, PO and process check disbursement; reconcile and disburse petty cash and define minimum levels of cash.
Reconcile cash advances for programmatic activities by working with the USP Rockville team to ensure USAID rules and regulations on cost principles and allow ability is met: ensure expenditures are in compliance with respective to local Charities and Societies Agency (CSA).
Execute CPO payment for various taxes (withholding, payroll, pension etc.)
Manage monthly timesheet reporting to headquarters is in accordance with timekeeping SOP;
Create and facilitate purchase order requests in support of and for execution of programmatic funds;
Process payroll and related retirement and tax withholding filings and payment preparation.
Maintain and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, recording and posting financial data.
Collect Proforma.
Coordinate and resolve issues with bank; check and verify timely VAT Summery.
Undertakes any other related duties that may be assigned to him by the CHIEF OF PARTY

Job Requirement
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; knowledge of program/project management.
A minimum of 5 years related or comparable professional experience.
Work experience in USAID funded International NGOs.
Expertise with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint); Peachtree accounting soft wares, payroll management systems, and web-based communications platforms and Advanced Excel skills preferable
Essential knowledge of the legal accounting requirements and procedures
