Being an employee of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) in Ethiopia the Procurement Officer is expected to represent NRC in a responsible manner and always act in accordance with NRC’s Code of Conduct.
Roles & Responsibilities:
The purpose of the Procurement officer position is day to day implementation of the support functions responsibilities. Use actions words such as ensure, implement or assist for the position relevant responsibilities.
Generic Responsibilities:
· Implement delegated support function portfolio according to plan of action;
· Prepare and develop status reports as required by management;
· Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function;
· Ensure procurement plans are developed and followed accordingly;
· Ensure that all procurement processes are in compliance with NRC Logistics Handbook, other NRC policies and door requirements;
· Register and/or prepare requisitions, quotations and purchase orders and update status reports and Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment;
· Ensure that all NRC vehicles are in proper operating condition with all required documents in place and coordinate vehicle movement accordingly;
Specific Responsibilities:
· Distribute/organize transport of material and equipment according to procedures;

· Have and update vendor list whenever needed;
· Ensure proper filing of documents;
· Liaise with suppliers to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of goods, services and equipment;
· Prepare documents as required by line manager;
Competencies:

· Bachelor degree in (Procurement/Logistics/Administration or any other relevant field)
· Minimum of Three years of experience working as a Procurement Officer in a humanitarian/recovery/emergency context
· Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts

· Fluency in English, both written and verbal
