Organization Background
Nuru International Ethiopia is a US-based international NGO working to end extreme poverty in remote rural communities in Ethiopia. Nuru’s first integrated development project in Ethiopia began in 2013 in Boreda Woreda, Gamo Gofa Zone, and SNNPR. Nuru currently works in four integrated intervention areas: Agriculture, Financial Inclusion, Healthcare and Education. All four programs work through local Grain Marketing Cooperatives. Currently, Nuru Ethiopia employs approximately 60+ staff in its headquarters in Arba Minch and project woredas.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Nuru Cooperative Field Officer is responsible for carrying out the overall program goals and objectives for the Cooperative program facilitating original training modules cooperative procedure and management, supervising Primary Cooperative Managers, developing financially sustainable grain marketing cooperatives, and collecting and report all monitoring data. They must also understand and carry out the Nuru model.
Further, s/he will foster organizational development, promote Nuru’s values and servant leadership culture, promote accountability and high performance, and encourage innovation. S/he will ensure all cooperatives are progressing Nuru’s goal of enabling rural communities to realize meaningful choices to lift themselves out of extreme poverty in a sustainable way.
