1. Position: Manager, Clearing and Settlement Division

Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Reports to: Chief Operation Officer
JOB PURPOSE
Manage the entire clearing and settlement processes on the Exchange; maintain smooth and transparent relation and coordination with settlement banks, warehouse operators, regulatory organ and other stakeholders; devise annual plan of the Division and ensure the implementation of work plan; ensure compliance to the rules, polices and procedure manuals of the Exchange; produce periodic performance reports and to coach, train, motivate and evaluate the staff under his/her Division.
SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plans, organizes, directs, implements, controls, and evaluates the Clearing and Settlement Operation of the Exchange as per predefined SLA; leads the preparation, consolidation and implementation of the Division’s annual action plan and budget as per the Exchange’s policies and procedures, as well as the production of periodic operational reports;
· Prepares and improves internal work process, procedural manuals and guidelines to ensure that members and clients are satisfied with the Exchange service and their concerns are addressed timely. This includes meeting with other Managers to discuss possible improvements on processes and work flows, identify process gaps and forward recommendation to revise procedure manual and the rules of the Exchange with respect Trading Operation;
· Manages internal and external customer service enquiries; manages settlement account reconciliation and monthly fund transfer to ECX and warehouse operator’s corporate accounts. This also include to manage all internal and external reports are properly prepared and compiled for timely reporting to stakeholders;
· Leads, directs, guides, supports and controls the Division’s staff to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained to meet the set targets and they carry out their responsibilities to the required standards. Conducts regular meetings with staff under his/her supervision to discuss ways and means of improving work systems. This also include to initiate and support (coach) staff trainings, and manage their performance evaluation based on the HR policy;
· Establishes and maintains networks and good relationships with business sectors, settlement banks, Ethiopian Revenue and Customs Authority, Ethiopia Commodity Exchange Authority, National Bank of Ethiopia and Ethiopian Coffee Sport Club.
· Responsible to initiate, coordinate, prepare and implement work flow and process development, procedure manual and service level standards.
· Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
· BA/MA in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, and Economics or other relevant business and 8/6 years of work experience in Domestic Banking Operation.
