Project planning and implementation
· Participate in the regional CO and zonal planning
· Ensure partners are fully understood the detail implementation plan of the project
· Ensure TT surgeries are performed based on the agreed up on plan of action with dedicated and IECW and worda health office
Technical support to HEWs (case finders) Project Learning and documentation
· Develop plan, provide technical support in the design and establishment of TT surgery
· Identify gaps which hinders TT surgeries performance
· Regularly discussion with TT-coordinators to identify support needed
· Ensure adequate flow of TT cases seeking trichiasis surgery services at all times
· Review, register, provide support for the project review meeting, establish and develop monitoring checklist to kebele project review meeting
· Track monitor and document, and share lessons collect case stories, from TT coordinators
· In guidance and close working with zona Project Manager update consumable and medical supplies monthly from dedicated team and IECW
· Ensure all necessary document of the project are collected and kept at HC and woreda health
Representation, networking and backstopping support
· Act as primary contact person for dedicated team and IECWs create networking and collaboration, between dedicated/IECWs, community leaders, likeminded people at woreda and cooperation.
Partnership and Community mobilization and awareness creation
· Communicate with woreda health offices about the trichiasis outreach surgical services schedule in advance
· In consultation with the B. Hospital medical director involve in development of schedules for the TT plus cataract surgery team
· Work closely with woreda & kebele cabinet to Identify volunteers who can use megaphones and disseminate information about the TT service and MDA campaign
· Ensure adequate sensitizations are undertaken in kebeles and mobilize community to seek TT surgery service by IECW & TT cordinators
Reporting
· Compile and provide weekly and monthly update regarding team performance and consumption reports of medical consumables
· Ensure enough monitoring tools are available at IECWs and dedicated team
Regular monitoring and supervision
· Develop woreda (IECW) level month supervision plan and share with woreda heal & zone
· Facilitate woreda level joint supportive supervision
· Ensure all Trained IECW are function and communicate any gaps with zonal project manager and ZHO
· Organize monthly woreda level IECW performance monitoring discussion and quarter zonal IECWs review meeting.
Essential:
· At least BSc Degree in Public Health/Nursing/Ophthalmic Officer or related fields from a recognized institution
· Minimum of three to five years of relevant experience in public health, eye care or disease prevention and control programs.
Desirable:
· Experience in Managing trachoma programs or other Neglected Tropical Diseases( NTD)an added advantage
· NGO experience in similar role is an asset
Experience and skills requirements
· At least 3 to 5 years’ experience in Health Programme Management in a complex work environment preferably in the NGO sector
· High sense of integrity, confidentiality and initiate sound judgment Programme implementation
· Should be a team player, positive change manager and result-oriented personality
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly, coupled with ability to influence, advise, and work with partners at all levels
· Excellent computer skills
· Familiarity with National Health policy of Ethiopia and Particularly of eye Health
· Ability to work well with others under deadline situations and respond to changes in priorities.
· Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills in English and strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and implement programme
· Employ problem-solving skills and analysis
Knowledge of Afaan Oromo and knowledge of the Project Operational Area is an added advantage.
