The International Citizen Service (ICS) is an initiative supported by the Department for International Development (DFID) to provide young adults from Ethiopia and the UK with an opportunity to volunteer alongside each other and join the fight against poverty.
The scheme combines the power of volunteering with youth participation in development. The project will be implemented in partnership with VSO Ethiopia programme partners in the following communities: Asossa, Hawassa and Mekelle.
We are seeking for 3 competent applications from Ethiopian youth leaders to coach and support teams of young volunteers involved in the implementation of our development projects in the above communities. ICS team leaders mentor and train volunteers, and work with them to deliver their placement objectives, promoting learning throughout the project. This is a 4-month project starting 15th June 2017. Successful applicants will be expected to spend 4 months leading and supporting youth teams alongside counterparts from the UK in the above communities.
