The Gerald J. and Dorothy R. Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy, the only graduate school of nutrition in the United States, is dedicated to passionately advancing nutritional well-being for people worldwide through excellence in research and teaching and the shaping of public policy. Faculty and researchers conduct research supported by substantial external grants and contracts from federal sponsors, private foundations, and generous donors.
Feed the Future Ethiopia Growth through Nutrition Activity is a five year (Sept 1, 2016-Aug 31, 2021), $72.9 million award from USAID/Ethiopia, to provide ongoing assistance to the Government of Ethiopia (GOE), to Save the Children US along with its international partners, JHPIEGO, Land O’ Lakes, Population Services International, The Manoff Group, Tufts University and World Vision, and local NGOs, to strengthen the institutional and policy environment, develop its human resources for nutrition, and implement strategies that address poverty and food security and social and behavioral barriers to optimal nutrition.
The development and implementation of a cross-cutting learning agenda is an important component of the Feed the Future Ethiopia Growth through Nutrition Activity and will be led by Tufts University in collaboration with project partners. Learning activities will be designed to provide evidence on an on-going, timely basis to allow for improvements or adjustments in implementation of nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive interventions, and inform the NNP and OWNP. Areas of focus will emphasize technical areas critical to achievement of Strategic Objectives (SO) and Intermediate Results, as well as research priorities identified by GoE partners and USAID.
Tufts University is seeking an experienced Research Manager to join Tufts’ Growth through Nutrition team in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Research Manager directly reports to Tufts Senior Learning Advisor and supports the overall coordination and management of the operational research studies, aimed at providing rigorous data to make the Growth through Nutrition program implementation more effective and provide the government with important program and policy information.
