Brief highlight of the Society
The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) is established on the eve of Ethio-Italian war, on July, 8, 1935 and signed the Geneva Convention on July 25 of the same year and became 48th member of League of Red Cross/Red Crescent Societies on 25, September 1935. Since then the Society have engaged on providing Humanitarian services & community based development initiatives.
Currently the ERCS has a structure consisting of 11 Regional Offices, 32 Zonal Branches and 112 District/Woreda Branches and 3673 grass root committees/Kebele Red Cross Committees.
Job Summary
The Programme, Operations, and Liaison Coordinator is expected of perform in view of the scaled-up ERCS and IFRC drought / food security Appeal and operation, the purpose of the position is to support the ERCS to manage the operation to ensure set objectives are met within the approved budget and timeframe. This will result (intended outcome) in increased delivery of the planned assistance to the targeted beneficiaries, indicated by increased implementation rates with the available resources. A related core function is effective liaison and coordination with the IFRC’s Nairobi-based EAIO unit and the RC / RC partners operational in Ethiopia.

Terms of employment:- Contract One year, full-time, extendable
Qualification Requirements:-
MSC/MA or BA/ BSC in Disaster Management, Economics, Development areas (Rural Development, Development Economics, Natural Resources Management, Agriculture, Management), Sociology, and Social work and Minimum of 6 or 8 years work experience for MA or MSC & BA/BSC respectively in related fields on management & Senior Professional positions. Out of which 2 years on Senior Management position. Extensive experience in emergency & relief management is a requirement. Experience with and knowledge of the RC / RC Movement preferred.
