Amref Health Africa would like to recruit a Project Assistant for its Replenish Africa Initiative (RAIN) project in Benishangul Gumuz regional state. The job holders will be based in Benishangul Gumuz and reports to the project Manager.
Purpose of the Job:
The main purpose of the job is to implement Amref Health Africa in Ethiopia’s WASH project which mainly focuses on sustainably improve health and socioeconomic status of the target communities, especially for women and youth, through increased access to water and sanitation services. She/he will report to the WASH project manager and works with the project officer to implement the project in Benishangul Gumuz.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop a work plan that includes objectives and deliverables
· Ensure implementation of the project in collaboration with the government stakeholders and beneficiaries.
· Provide targeted technical assistance to projects through field visits.
· Ensure project implementation in line with Amref Health Africa’s organizational objective and government policy, strategies and guidelines.
· Planning and Facilitation of timely procurement of goods and services for projects;
· Prepare and submit timely the monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual quality reports to the project manager.
· Prepare work plan and cash advance request
· Work with the project accountant, M and E Officer and procurement officers to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in resource utilization.
· Actively participate in operations research, evaluations and assessments
· Organize and participate in review meetings, forums with partner meetings
· Gather, compile and disseminate case stories from the field
EXPERIENCE
· More than 4 years relevant experience in income generation activities
· Practical experience in construction of water supply schemes
· Experience in working with community/ associations, technical support, facilitating seed money provision and follow up.
· Experience in hygiene and sanitation promotion approaches like CLTSH and others
· Hands-on experience in in working with rural communities, pastoralist context experience is advantageous
