JOB SUMMARY:

The SNNPR Zonal Coordinator in Sidama, Wolayita, Hadiya, Gedeo and and Halaba special woreda for School readiness for O class project. The zonal coordinator is principally responsible for providing day-to-day oversight, quality assurance and technical assistance for district and community level activities and the project’s coordination and partnership with the Zonal Education Offices (ZEOs) and Woreda Education Offices (WEOs) as well as with other local government partners. Reporting to the school Readiness Regional project Manager. S/he will be responsible for the successful, timely monitoring of the school readiness project implementations plan in the zone in collaboration with zonal and Woreda partners. S/he will lead the Zonal level School readiness for O class in developing quarterly and monthly plans according to the budget, and feeding into school Readiness Regional level planning and reporting processes.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Project-implementation and monitoring
Coordinate the zonal and woreda level execution of the School Readiness project annual implementation plan in SNNPR, in cooperation with the ZEOs, WEOs and other stakeholders.
Ensure the zonal and Woreda level programming targets being met, and report discrepancies and changes up to the Regional project Manager.
Prepare quarterly and monthly plans, aligned with allocated budget and programming targets.
Ensure Zonal and Woreda level responsibilities execute in line with regional office expectations and schedules.
Identify opportunities for public-private partnerships.
Partnership with ZEOs and WEOs and other Zonal and Local Stakeholders nad other tasks
Lead relationship building with Zonal and Woreda leadership.
Conduct orientations and trainings of ZEOs, WEOs,WCYA and O class facilitators.
Support and provide technical assistance to community outreach strategy development
Follow up and provide support to O class facilitator’s implementation of project activities.
Project deliverables including regular program reporting and annual work plan development
Participate in annual work plan development, developing work plans in conjunction with zonal, woreda and School stakeholders.
Provide inputs into regular reporting on the project progress and success related to areas of responsibility, to be incorporated into project reports.

Bachelor’s degree in Educational or related field, and minimum 5 years’ working experience
Experience working on donor-funded education projects in preprimary school role
Experience leading and overseeing teams Preprimary school facilitators
Experience supporting community mobilization projects and/or projects targeting community and school level stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to work successfully with ZEOs and woreda level government partners and stakeholders
Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English and Amharic, as well as fluency in local language to which the candidate apply for Sidama, Wolaitigna, Gedeo, Hadiya and Halaba special Woreda.
Experience working in government education offices
