CONTEXT
The Better Migration Management (BBM) project is funded by the GIZ and the European Union under the Horn of Africa Window T05 – EUTF – HoA – REG – 09 of the Emergency Trust Fund for Africa. The final Description of the Action developed by GIZ as the coordinating agency, and in compliance with the overarching division of labour agreed among the consortium members, Expertise France’s contribution to the BMM project will centred on the second and third specific objectives of the Action, namely:
To strengthen the capacity of all institutions and agencies responsible for migration and border management (capacity building), and
To improve the identification, assistance and protection for Victims of Trafficking (VoT) and vulnerable migrants, especially women and children, in the Horn of Africa (protection).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager (HQs) and under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (Addis Ababa), the Driver will provide a support on:
Drives for officials and staff
Ensures provision of reliable and safe driving services:
driving office vehicles for the transport of staff, officials and visitors
delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items,
meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport including visa and customs formalities arrangement when required
Keep a high degree of confidentiality and discreteness in discussions which involves staff and its officials
Maintaining a log of all logistics in respect with Expertise France administrative procedures and standards
Report writing about organizational vehicles including repairs/fault development
Arrange for minor repairs and ensures that the vehicles are kept clean
Keep record of spare parts for the vehicle and conduct monthly inventory of the spare parts.
Manage the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicles
Ensures cost-savings through proper use of vehicle through accurate maintenance of daily vehicle logs
Ensures proper use of vehicle maintenance plans and assistance in preparing vehicle history report.
Ensures availability of all the required documents/supplies including vehicle insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle logs, office directory, map of the city/country, first aid kit, and necessary spare parts in the assigned vehicle.
Keeps track of insurance and other tax formalities
Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
When necessary, translates in local language for the head of the office and/or official personnel using the car.
Assists office staff in filing, photocopying and maintaining stores when required. Assists in the mailing and distribution of newsletters and publications and arranges to pay office telephone and other bills, as required.
Performs other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirement
Valid driver’s license
Three years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization with a safe driving record.
Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions
